In short: Zillow Scraper reads the listings that a Zillow search page has already loaded in your browser and saves them to a CSV file on your computer. There is no server behind this extension. Nothing you collect is sent anywhere, and we have no way to see it. We don't show ads, sell data or track what you browse.
The listings you collect — address, city, ZIP, state, price, price per square foot, price cut, beds, baths, living area, home type, days on Zillow, the listing link and the time each row was captured — are kept in the extension's storage in this browser, together with your settings. Up to five recent searches are kept; a sixth search replaces the one you haven't opened for the longest.
This data is not synced to other devices and is never sent to us. The CSV file is built inside your browser and saved straight to your Downloads folder.
The extension doesn't encrypt this storage. Anyone who can use your browser profile can open the extension and export what it holds.
To delete everything, remove the extension: Chrome deletes its storage with it.
The extension has no server of its own, so there is nothing for it to send data to. It makes requests to exactly one place, https://www.zillow.com/, and only in one case.
| Action | What happens |
|---|---|
| Export collected | No requests at all. The file is built from what the pages you opened had already loaded. |
| Export all results | After you press the button, the extension asks Zillow for the remaining pages of that search — the same requests the page itself makes when you click through pagination — at about one request every 4.5 seconds. If Zillow asks for a human check, the extension stops and hands you what it has already collected. It never solves or clicks that check for you. |
No requests are made in the background, to any other site, or without you pressing a button.
Three, and no more.
storage — to keep the collected listings and your settings in this browser.scripting — to start working on Zillow search tabs that were already open when you installed the extension, so you don't have to reload them by hand.https://www.zillow.com/* — the only site the extension works on. It cannot read any other site. The extension does not request the tabs permission and cannot see your browsing history or the addresses of your other tabs. It does not request the downloads permission either: the file is handed to Chrome as an ordinary download link.
These three pages — welcome, uninstall and feedback — count visits with Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics tool: it records the visit, the page address, the referrer, the browser and the country, without cookies and without any identifier that follows you between sites. The extension itself contains no analytics at all.
Zillow Scraper is a tool for real estate work and is not directed to children under 13.
